Baptismal Service Sunday 12th June Charlotte's Baptism
16 years ago family and friends gathered at Upper Edge Baptist Church for the dedication of a 3 month old baby. On Sunday 12 June many of those same family and friends met to witness the baptism of a 16-year-old young lady. Charlotte recently took the decision to accept Jesus into her life and as a public display of this commitment she decided that she wanted to be baptised. A congregation of over 60 joined with her to celebrate this significant event. The music was led by Lee and two friends, John and Gareth from Guiseley Baptist Church who provided an excellent accompaniment to the modern worship songs that Charlotte had chosen for her special day. The church was filled with voices praising God. Charlotte shared with everyone her testimony. She talked about how she had come to this decision and the significant moments that brought her to this day. Lee gave an excellent and challenging message through his sermon. This prepared everyone for the next part of the service. We all went down stairs to witness the main event! In front of her family, church family and group of friends from school Charlotte entered the waters of baptism. Charlotte was baptised in the water by Lee and her dad, Simon (a very special moment for him) as everyone looked on. As she left to get dried and changed, Rev. Graham Lindley (who dedicated Charlotte 16 years ago) led a time of prayer. After the service lunch was provided. Everyone stayed and enjoyed a time to chat, catch up and share in the day. It was a brilliant, emotional, uplifting and exhausting day. Charlotte and family would especially like to thank the whole church family for all their help, support and love on this special day. Thank you. Simon Thompson

The After Christmas Christmas Party
We might not have had great numbers there but we all had a fun time and took part whatever our age was.
